Akahu support is in beta. Functionality is working but may have rough edges. Report issues in the Discord.
How it works
- Create an Akahu account and register a personal app to get your app token and user token
- Paste both tokens into Sure
- Sure discovers your Akahu accounts and begins syncing balances and transactions
- Choose how each discovered account should appear in Sure (Cash, Credit Card, Investment, or Loan)
Prerequisites
- An Akahu account connected to your New Zealand bank accounts
- A personal app token and user token from the Akahu developer portal
Setting up Akahu
Get your tokens
- Sign in to the Akahu developer portal
- Create a personal app — give it a name and description
- Copy your app token (used to identify your application)
- Follow the Akahu authorization flow to get your user token (grants access to your accounts)
Connect Akahu in Sure
- In Sure, go to Settings > Bank sync
- Find the Akahu panel and enter your app token and user token
- Click Save — Sure initiates a first sync to discover your accounts
- Go to the Accounts tab and run account setup to choose how each Akahu account should appear
Link discovered accounts
After the first sync, Sure shows all accounts returned by Akahu but not yet linked. For each one:- Choose an account type: Cash, Credit Card, Investment, or Loan — or skip accounts you do not want to track
- Click Create accounts to create the selected accounts and begin syncing them
