Balances and Pending Transactions
Why doesn't my account balance include pending transactions?
Why doesn't my account balance include pending transactions?
Sure excludes pending transactions from account balance calculations. Account balances reflect only settled (posted) transactions. This prevents balances from being temporarily inflated or deflated by transactions that may still change amount, be cancelled, or be replaced by a posted version from your provider.Pending transactions remain visible in your transaction list. Once a transaction posts, it is counted in your balance and in reports.Providers that report pending status include SimpleFIN, Plaid, Lunchflow, Enable Banking, Akahu, Up, Mercury, and Redbark.
Why does my balance look different from what my bank shows?
Why does my balance look different from what my bank shows?
Banks commonly display an “available balance” that deducts pending transactions. Sure shows a settled balance — one that reflects only posted activity. If the difference matches the sum of your pending transactions, that is expected behavior. Your balance in Sure will update once those transactions post.
Transfers and Currencies
Can I have a transfer between accounts with different currencies (exchange rate)?
Can I have a transfer between accounts with different currencies (exchange rate)?
Yes, you can make transfers between accounts with different currencies. The system automatically applies the appropriate exchange rate for the transfer date:
- The outgoing transaction uses the source account’s currency and amount
- The incoming transaction is converted to the destination account’s currency using the latest available rate
- If no exchange rate is found, it falls back to a 1:1 rate, which may result in incorrect amounts until rates are synced
- Foreign exchange metadata is also recorded for auditing purposes
